Hugh Watchorn
Chief Financial Officer
Hugh Watchorn graduated from the London School of Economics in 1984, and began his training with Arthur Andersen in London. He became a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1989, and has gone on to apply his keenly commercial mind to fast-growing, entrepreneurial businesses across a wide range of sectors. He is particularly experienced in leading corporate finance projects such as taking companies to market, mergers and acquisitions, re-financing, and business turnarounds. During his twelve years at Bonhams, Hugh was very closely involved with the Bonhams-Phillips merger, the acquisition of Butterfield and Butterfield on the West Coast of the USA, several internal group reorganisations, and the expansion of operations in New York City, Asia, and Australia. He is neither a “glass half full” nor a “glass half empty” CFO; rather he believes in assessing risk prior to recommending his view of the way forward.
