Card-linking is unleashing a new wave of innovation enabling merchants and advertisers to close the loop between digital ads and in store purchases. Consumers are also shifting to card-linking because they receive personalized digital ads with discounts that are redeemed at the physical point of sale without paper coupons, loyalty FOBs or promo codes. Silvio Tavares is the President and CEO of The CardLinx Association which is the leading standards and interoperability association for the card-linked industry. Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Information Products at Visa Inc. Before joining Visa, he was Senior Vice President and Division Manager for First Data’s Global Information & Analytics business.  Among other key innovations, he established and patented First Data’s flagship SpendTrend macro-economic indicator. He holds over 20 issued or pending patents in data analytics, digital advertising and payments.  He earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Tufts University and MBA from Boston College and Juris Doctor degree from The Boston University Law School.
