S&OP At Cisco: The Journey From S&OP To IBP

Cisco began S&OP 5 years ago. We started with the fundamentals of supply and demand matching and planning for product transitions. We matured and scaled up to cover almost all of the businesses inside Cisco with S&OP process. In the past 12-18 months, Cisco S&OP has continued to mature towards Integrated Business Planning. We have combined S&OP Planning with Demand Planning and added a Regional S&OP team, which is driving a tight relationship with Sales. Our IBP teams shape demand to minimize Excess and optimize margins. We continue to drive toward a higher level of maturity, working towards better data automation, data insight, integrate customer perspective, and collaborate across teams. We are taking steps to integrate the IBP at the business unit, segment, and company levels.
