Big Data promises great potential with a wide range of application in various fields such as predictive analytics, fraud detection, real-time intelligence, etc. As huge volume and variety of data are being collected from various sources at a tremendous rate, it also presents very real challenges from a risk and privacy perspective. What are some of the key challenges facing Big Data? What are the issues from the point of collecting, processing, analyzing and disseminating the data that needs to be considered and addressed to reduce the risk from an end to end data life cycle perspective.

Winston Chew has 19 years of experience in Technology Risk Management / Information Security Management in large global financial organisations.

He is currently the Global Head of Application Security to drive development of secure software across all regions in Barclays group. Prior to this role, Winston held various management positions with Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, United Overseas Bank and OCBC Bank.

Winston holds a Master degree ( Management of Technology ) from National University of Singapore – Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor degree ( Computer Engineering ) from Nanyang Technological University.
