Social media offers a unique insight into customer sentiment. Large brands must monitor and maintain a social presence in order to guarantee success.
Thane Ryland is Head of Global Social Media Insights at Microsoft. His role is to help Microsoft accelerate the role of digital and social insights in every aspect of its global organisation, from business planning to digital marketing and communications. Previous social/digital media insights and strategy roles were leading the social insights and strategy for Sony, Activision and other brands and Social Media Insights Director at WPP’s MEC Interaction. His earlier career was in digital marketing, ecommerce and communications roles in North America. He holds an MSc in Media and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science (Distinction) and is a frequent speaker on social and digital strategy and insights.
