Alaska's Supply Chain - Uniqueness and Challenges
Sourcing and Procurement at an airline presents some unique challenges. This presentation will explore some of those challenges and how Alaska has transformed its Supply Chain Organization to meet the needs of the business.
Ken started his career in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988. H worked as a mechanic for Flying Tigers and Federal Express from ’88 to ’97. Ken was a key part in starting and certifying a FAA Part-145 repair Station. Ken's career with Alaska as a Line Maintenance Supervisor in 1999, holding varying positions in Maintenance from 1999 to 2013, spending 10 years in the material organization where he held positions of Technical Representative, Repairs Manager and Manager Maintenance Component Contracting. This is where Ken got over 10 years of sourcing, negotiating and contracting experience. In July 2013, Ken became the Director of Supply Chain Operations, responsible for procurement, technical sourcing, logistics and print.
