Sports Performance & Tech, Issue 4

Where we talk about how concussion issues within sports

9Feb

Welcome to this issue of Sports Performance and Technology.

As the last issue of 2013, we would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who has helped take this magazine from an idea in January to a fully fledged global magazine in December.

The response that we have had from everybody in this unique community has been phenomenal. We put that down to the passion of our writers and the buzz that everybody has created through social media and sharing amongst colleagues.

I think we have created the best issue to date, complete with discussions on bobsleigh, concussions, football and reviews.

The review section includes some of the most interesting products in sports performance and monitoring including the new Adidas Boost running shoes, Livia One Probiotics and the Fitbit Flex. We always want to review new products that are pushing new ideas and new technologies, so if you think you have something that

would wow our reviewers, then please get in touch.

This issue also tackles the difficult topic of concussions, their monitoring and their prevention. It is a pertinent issue at the moment making the front and back pages of newspapers globally. We talk to a young inventor who has created a revolutionary mouthguard, a coach who believes that neck strengthening holds the key to concussion prevention and a youth team coach who uses an app to monitor concussions.

We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we have enjoyed creating it and as always if you are interested in getting involved please contact me at ghill@sportsperformancetech.com
