The CFO serves as the primary leader in overseeing the finances and financial strategy of the Housing Partnership Network and its affiliated companies. Working as a collaborative leader alongside the CEO and other members of the executive leadership team and partnering closely with the board of directors and the finance committee of the board, the CFO is responsible for managing and reporting on all fiscal and fiduciary affairs of the organization. S/he is also a key financial advisor and partner to the members of the HPN executive team and the presidents of HPN’s affiliated social enterprises.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12-15 years of broad finance experience with at least five years’ experience as a CFO, a master’s degree in accounting, finance or business and/or CPA. The candidate must have experience in senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies. S/he will have played senior level leadership roles managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) for a complex organization that has multiple funding sources, including earned and philanthropic income, and with multiple affiliated entities.
The successful CFO candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and a can-do approach; s/he must have demonstrated capacity and aptitude to work in a highly collaborative, innovative and entrepreneurial environment. This role requires someone that is also highly entrepreneurial with strong internal and external customer and partner orientation with expertise in real estate finance, development and operations. The candidate must have a results-proven track record with leading social enterprise strategies and have deep knowledge and understanding of hybrid, nonprofit and for profit business models.
