How England Women's Football Uses Data

Last week, England women's football team beat France for the first time in 43 years to book a European Championships semi-final spot against Holland on Thursday. England are now the highest ranked team in the competition and there is a chance that they could secure England's first major trophy since 1966. Manager Mark Sampson has been praised for his great work with the team, and we sat down with his last year to discuss the use of data analytics in football.

Mark Sampson has been the head coach of the England Women National Team since late 2013, having begun his coaching career at Welsh side Taff's Well. After moving to take charge of Bristol City Women's Football Club, Mark replaced Hope Powell as England manager in December 2013.
