Jamie Cool, director of program management of Azure DevOps, said: "Azure DevOps captures more than 15 years of investment and learnings in providing tools to support software development teams. In the last month, more than 80,000 internal Microsoft users and thousands of our customers, in teams both small and large, used these services to ship products to you."

Microsoft's Visual Studio Team Services was a platform for application lifecycle management. Azure DevOps will aim to improve user experience and existing user will be automatically upgraded to Azure DevOps.

Cool noted: "For existing users, there is no loss of functionally, simply more choice and control. The end to end traceability and integration that has been the hallmark of VSTS is all there."
