Landrush for the new .LLC TLDs announced

Between July 9–20, LLC's will be able to adopt their preferred domain name in the new namespace

The landrush for the new "dot LLC" or .LLC top level domain (TLD) began on July 9, 2018, and will run through until July 20, 2018, domain registry operator Afilias has announced. The introduction of .LLC means that limited liability companies (LLC) will be able to establish internet identities that align more closely with their corporate identity and branding, as opposed to having to alter their names or brands to fit with limited choices in more crowded TLDs.

During this landrush period, .LLC domains will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis at special pricing, and companies who are not currently trademark holders will be able to register their preferred domain name in the new namespace.

The introduction of the new TLD will maximize future LLC's opportunities to attract investors, develop new websites to further their purpose and start marketing efforts.

".LLC is the ideal internet address for the millions of LLC's worldwide," said Roland LaPlante, chief marketing officer of Afilias. "Now companies can advertise their corporate identity directly in their email and web addresses, helping their customers find them more easily."

Following landrush, there will be a short "quiet period" before .LLC names will be available at a regular price from July 23, 2018.
