A recent MarketsandMarkets report has forecasted the end-user computing (EUC) market to increase between 2018–23 from $6.11bn to $11.17bn at a CAGR rate of 12.8%.

According to the research firm behind the forecast, the market's growth will be because of a result of increasing demand for mobility solutions that enhance employee productivity and efficiency within organizations.

"With the proliferation of mobile devices and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend, enterprises are looking for technologies and methods that can tap digital opportunities and EUC solutions are proving to be a viable option to achieve this purpose in these regions," the report stated.

The report divided EUC into different components which included virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI); unified communication; device management; and software asset management. From the segmentation, the report revealed that VDI is predicted to be the main driver for EUC market growth and outlined that large-scale adoption can be achieved by employing "cost reductions on hardware infrastructure, increased efficiency of employees and the capability to support workforce on any device".
