The leading Chinese internet search provider, Baidu, has announced that the key themes for its own conference, Baidu World 2018, will include how AI applications can transform different industries, everyday life and contribute to social good.
It will also unveil its latest technologies, products and partnerships at the flagship technology conference at China World Hotel in Beijing on November 1.
Baidu has recently made a number of developments into the world of AI and last month Robin Li Yanhong, co-founder and CEO of Baidu, stated that "AI will be bigger than the internet". Yesterday it launched an AI system capable of simultaneously translating two languages at once.

The news of its new AI portfolio also follows Baidu's decision to become the first Chinese firm to join the global AI ethics body, which was formed by Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and IBM, signaling its goal to become a global leader in the technology.
Of the decision to join the ethics body, Baidu president Ya-Qin Zhang stated: "As AI technology keeps advancing and the application of AI expands, we recognise the importance of joining the global discussion around the future of AI."
He added that "ensuring AI's safety, fairness and transparency should not be an afterthought but rather highly considered at the onset of every project or system we build".
