Amazon has announced in a new blog post that it will today open a new concept store called Amazon 4-Star which will only stock items that have been rated four stars and above by customers.
The store, located in New York's Soho neighborhood, will stock a variety of products, much like its online store, and will aim to stock only "the best of the best".
"Today, the average rating of all the products in Amazon 4-star is 4.4 stars, and collectively, the products in store have earned more than 1.8 million 5-star customer reviews," Amazon stated in the blog post announcing the opening.
"Throughout the store there are features like "Most-Wished-For," a collection of products that are most added to Amazon.com Wish Lists; "Trending Around NYC," hot products that NYC-area customers are buying on Amazon.com; "Frequently Bought Together"; and "Amazon Exclusives."," it added.

Amazon said it will ascertain what needs to be stocked by establishing what is trending and most wished-for by looking at data from sales and customer wish lists.
The announcement comes after news broke last week that Amazon was planning to open as many as 3,000 of their cashier-less grocery stores, Amazon Go, by 2021.
Amazon's recent moves suggest that the online retail giant is at the early states of a plan to move its business away from its exclusive online retail platform and into the physical world. Its change of direction could also suggest the return of people shopping in physical stores, following years of dropping sales on Main Street, with Amazon having a history of correctly predicting market trends, as well as swaying consumers with its strategic decisions.
